Another famous name from the iOS jailbreak community is moving to Apple. Winocm has announced he will be joining the Cupertino based company starting this year.
“I figured now is the right time to say this, I will be working at Apple starting later this year.” said Winocm on his Twitter account.
Along with iH8sn0w and SquiffyPwn, Winocm previously released P0sixpwn, an untethered jailbreak solution for iOS 6.1.3 to iOS 6.1.5.
He started adding his contributions for the jailbreak community from 2011. Back in late 2013, he ported the core of both OS X and iOS to non-Apple device. The port allows him to run part of OS X and iOS on a Nokia N900.
Previously, we have seen other active members of the jailbreak community joining Apple. One of the example is Peter Hajas, the developer of MobileNotifier, a better notification system for jailbroken devices.
Another example is Nicholas Allegra who is better known as Comex who joined the company as an intern. Comex is famous for releasing many jailbreak tools famous among them was JailbreakMe, a jailbreak solution that uses a PDF vulnerability in Safari browser to inject the unsigned code through it.
Winocm has given any other details of the sort of work he will be doing at Apple. Apparently he won’t reveal that information as Apple is known for its secrecy.
His departure is not a good news for the jailbreak community but we congratulate and wish him good luck for his future plans.
