iH8Sn0w and Wincom has released a new tool named p0sixspwn that provides an untethered jailbreak for any device running iOS 6.1.3 to iOS 6.1.5.
They have released a Cydia package last week that pulls the same thing but that package had some limitations. P0sixpwn comes in the form of a tool and can even jailbreak iPhone 5 running iOS 6.1.3 to iOS 6.1.5.
It is to be noted that P0sixpwn has received a huge controversy in the jailbreak community due to the fact that it uses a very valuable exploit which they have wasted on iOS 6.1.3 to iOS 6.1.5 jailbreak. The newer version iOS 7 is already there and already jailbroken using Evasi0n7 so there was no point of wasting an exploit they could have saved for future.
“Probably that you don’t understand when I say highly valuable. It’s something jailbreakers refused to use for years. Was found by @comex…”, said Pod2g on Twitter. “Nice! @winocm and @iH8sn0w burnt a highly valuable root exploit that would have worked for future iOS versions for a stupid 6.1.5 jailbreak.”
Although there are some people who wanted iOS 6.1.3 to iOS 6.1.5 jailbreak but it wasn’t indispensable to fulfil their need if we consider the same exploit could be used in the future. Anyways its now out there and they can do nothing about it.
