This one is a huge one! 19 year old young iOS hacker Nicholas Allegra as known as Comex has been hired by Apple. He will soon join the company as an internee. Comex needs no introduction in the jailbreak community. His latest achievement is JailbreakMe 3.0 which is the only solution to jailbreak iPad 2 on iOS 4.3.3.
Comex himself announced this on his Twitter account:
It’s been really, really fun, but it’s also been a while and I’ve been getting bored.
So, the week after next I will be starting an internship with Apple.
Its not for the very first time we have seen Apple hiring a person from the jailbreak community. Previously it was Peter Hajas who was hired by Apple. Hajas was famous for his iOS notification app called MobileNotifier. He is now working to improve iOS notification system.
May be Apple is convinced by the article published by Forbes. Apparently an Apple employee will not be developing anything related to iOS jailbreak. Seems like JailbreakMe 4.0 will not be released by Comex for the upcoming iOS 5 final version.
iPad 2 users will certainly remember him as they were too anxious to get an iPad 2 jailbreak. The device containing A5 chip gave a tough time to the jailbreakers except for Comex who used a PDF vulnerability in Safari browser and wrote and exploit.
We are all happy for Comex as its the time for this young guy to become a professional and enjoys how people work in a company. Many congratulations to Comex.
