The whole jailbreak community was unhappy after the court has approved Sony’s request of Temporary Restarting Orders against GeoHot for jailbreaking PlayStation 3 firmware 3.55. George Hotz has come up with a short note to Sony which shows that he is fully prepared and energetic to fight against Sony.
If you unaware of the whole story, the young hacker George Hotz aka GeoHot was involved in the PlayStation 3 firmware 3.55 jailbreak. Sony sued GeoHot. After that US District Judge Susan Yvonne Illston approved Sony’s request for temporary restraining order (TRO) against GeoHot. The young hacker has been ordered to immediately stop the distribution of Homebrew Signing Tools for PS3 3.55 Jailbreak. So at the moment you can not find PS3 Jailbreak Root keys, dePKG firmware decrypter and signing tools on GeoHot’s website as he has removed it from there.
Here is what GeoHot has posted:
Note to Sony:
It’s apparent you don’t care about your reputation with consumers, and I can almost understand your point there.
Few people consider buying a TV or laptop a moral choice, and the consumer base is quite large.
But talented developers are in much shorter supply, and take it from one personally, who you choose to code for is much more of a moral choice.
The programmers you will one day be looking to hire are the ones reading the tech news sites right now.
And they will remember.
Let us see how this Sony vs GeoHot battles goes. The young developer was previously involved in jailbreaking Apple devices.
