We are all waiting for Apple to announce iOS 4.2. At the moment Golden Master version of iOS 4.2 is available for developers. Specially the iPad users are anxiously waiting for the release so they can enjoy multi-tasking. With the new iOS version the very first thing that comes in our minds is how to jailbreak it. Rite? VeryRite!! :)
Previously we have seen iOS 4.1 jailbroken by many different tools like Limra1n, GreenPois0n and PwnageTool. All these are based on the Limera1n bootrom exploit. You will get tethered jailbreak (the iOS device doesn’t have to be connected to a different device to perform the jailbreak) on the upcoming jailbreak of iOS 4.2 unless until you save SHSH blobs. Saving SHSH blobs is necessary to have UNTETHERED Jailbreak on iOS 4.2
So do you really want tethered jailbreak??? Of course not!!
Cydia is currently allowing you to save your SHSH blobs if you are a developer and already using iOS 4.2 Golden Master version. If you are using a jailbroken iOS 4.1 device, you should save your iOS 4.1 SHSH blobs too just to be on the safe side.
