Apple Releases iOS 4.2 GM To Developers, iPad Users To Enjoy AirPrint, AirPlay & Multitasking

Apple has officially released the iOS 4.2, the Golden Master (GM) version to developers. The Golden Master version usually the final build that will finally reach the users. AirPlay feature is also present to YouTube playback. The AirPlay feature was missing in the previous release for the developers.

The primary concern of the latest release is to enhance the iPad up to speed with other iOS 4.x features including multitasking and folders.

The new features introduced in iOS 4.2 includes:

  • AirPrint: The wireless printing facility is named as AirPrint. Airprint is allowed to work on iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad, iPod Touch and second generation device of Apple.                                                                                    According to Apple senior vice president: “AirPrint is Apple’s powerful new printing architecture that matches the simplicity of iOS—no set up, no configuration, no printer drivers and no software to download,”. “iPad, iPhone and iPod touch users can simply tap to print their documents or photos wirelessly to an HP ePrint printer or to a printer shared on a Mac or PC.”
  • AirPlay: The feature allows you to wirelessly stream music and video and images from iPad to the new Apple TV.
