Apple has released iOS 5.0.1 firmware for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. You can download it from iTunes directly or from the direct links pasted below. Over the air updates are also available.
iOS 5.0.1 is now public followed by two betas for developers. The update is released specifically to fix iPhone 4S battery drain issue on iOS 5. It also brings various security improvements, multi-tasking gestures to the original iPad, resolves bugs with Documents in the Cloud and improves voice recognition for Australian users using dictation. It also fixes iPad 2 smart cover security bug.

We have already covered an article for jailbreakers. If you wish to get iOS 5 jailbreak, you better stay away from iOS 5.0.1 update. Also it is not possible to save SHSH blobs of iOS 5 before you move to iOS 5.0.1, so if you upgrade to iOS 5.0.1 there will be no coming after Apple stops signing iOS 5.
