Apple has released another iOS Golden Master version to the developers named as iOS 4.2.1 for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. iOS 4.2.1 software is Build 8C148. Typically Golden Master version is the one that finally reaches to the public, however, two golden master versions has been released previously.
First golden master version of iOS 4.2 was released on November 1. Apple delayed the public version of iOS 4.2 and released another GM version after two weeks of the first GM version. The public version of iOS 4.2 was delayed to address iPad WiFi connectivity issue.
We were expecting the iOS 4.2 public version on November 24. In fact, nobody was expecting iOS 4.2.1 before the public version. May be Apple is trying to be sure that no bugs and errors reaches to their public users.
Today, we have seen some users complaining that they receive error message saying that the software update server could not be contacted while trying to connect their iPhone or iPad device to iTunes. We thought that Apple is going to release iOS 4.2 public version today, but this did not happen and they introduced iOS 4.2.1.
