Acer CEO Gianfranco Lanci confirmed that the company is about to reveal a tablet PC line. The second largest PC maker Acer will be launching multiple tablet devices on November 23 in New York city believing that tablets sale will eat into laptop sales in the coming days.

The price range of Acer’s tablet devices will range from $299 – $699 US according to the CEO. Although no specification has been told yet by the company.

Acer is one of biggest and reputable names in the PC maker industry. But it will face a direct competition with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab and RIM’s Blackberry PlayBook.

The biggest competitor is still there, Apple, which has grown rapidly with its iPad device. It will be very complicated to compete against Apple’s iPad in its initial stages.

Acer’s announcement on November 23 is also important because many of us want to know whether they will be running Google’s Android OS or Windows 7.

According to the company’s head, Acer’s objective is to become “the leader in mobile solutions for PC products from 3-inch to 20-inch.
