Apple has created a new Twitter account only for the App Store. The Twitter account is for both Mac App Store and iOS App Store. The company already has Twitter accounts for iTunesTrailers, iTunesPodcasts, iTunesTV, iTunesMovies, iTunesMusic but no official account as a company. Even the ceoSteveJobs Twiiter account is not the real Steve Jobs.
The account on Twitter is @AppStore. It will feature latest apps and offers for its followers according to its first Tweet:
Welcome to App Store on Twitter! Follow us to discover new apps, get exclusive offers, and share with friends. #appstore
The description of the new App Store Twitter account is as “follow us for official App Store tweets including our featured apps, exclusive offers, and more.”
We have not seen Apple doing much with social media world like Twitter or Facebook. The iTunes account on Twitter were also only for the announcement and nothing special for the followers. Let us see if Apple brings something new with the App Store account or not.
