There is no doubt in it that HTC HD2 is one of the most appreciated Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone. Officially it can never run Windows Phone 7 but hackers has made this possible and we can again see HTC HD2 running Windows Phone 7.
HTC HD2 was introduced last late last year. As we have seen Windows Phone 7 introduced by Microsoft at MWC 2010, we were expecting HTC HD2 to be a part of WP7 lineup. Microsoft announced later that HD2 will not be upgraded to Windows Phone 7 due to many incompatibilities issues. That brought many hackers with a wish to run Windows Phone 7 on HTC HD2.
A video has been revealed in which XDA China developers shows this WM 6.6 device running WP7. HTC HD2 owners will soon be getting the method of how to unofficially install Windows Phone 7 on their devices.
Although the video shows boot time taken a little longer for the device but its working flawlessly and showing some good performance. No functional apps or making a phone call has been shown in the video.
We will recommend you to buy HTC HD7 if you are planning to buy a new HTC HD device. This method will work only for those who are already using the HD2 handset.
