iOS 8 Jailbreak? The question is already in the minds of the jailbreak community users following Apple’s announcement of iOS 8 during WWDC conference.

Well the good news is that Cyberelevat0r jailbreak, the exploit made by Stefan Esser, is not patched in the first beta of iOS 8 released yesterday.

iOS 8 Jailbreak Cyberelevat0r

Esser, who goes by the name I0n1c on Twitter, posted a statement on his Twitter account, confirming his exploit would work and the new mobile operating system released by Apple hasn’t patched the vulnerability yet.

“Initial tests show that iOS 8 beta does not fix anything. Dumped kernel fine, but code changed and patches are not found.” Esser said on his Twitter account.

Few days back, Esser posted a photo of jailbroken iPhone 5C running iOS 7.1.1, which is also un-jailbroken by the time of writing this post. To further confirm that he was not trolling and he has a real working jailbreak exploit in his pocket, he went on and posted a video showing his jailbroken device.

Earlier we told you that it was unlikely that Esser would release the jailbreak for iOS 7.1.1. Now that iOS 8 is here and he has confirmed that its still working, the jailbreak community has a hope that they would see iOS 8 jailbreak as soon as it iOS 8 gets publicly released, which is due in September. Currently, iOS 8 is in beta, released only to the developers.

Cyberelevet0r jailbreak is claimed to use a single kernel bug that goes from mobile to kernel, instead of long vulnerability chain used by Evasi0n jailbreak tool.

Since iOS 4, the only time we have seen a tool using single vulnerability to achieve the jailbreak, was released in the form of JailbreakMe, by the famous Comex, who later left the jailbreak community to work for Apple.

iOS 8 is yet to see more betas and also there is no confirm news whether the talented Esser will release his jailbreak for public, as he has been known for trolling the jailbreak community. Hopefully, the Evad3rs team and other ha4kers also contribute their efforts so we can have an alternate.

So far, Esser’s Cyberelevat0r jailbreak for iOS 8 is working. So far so good.
