Apple Officially Launches The Mac App Store. Update To Mac OS X 10.6.6

Apple has officially launched The Mac App Store. Mac users can now access the new App Store by downloading and installing the Mac OS 10.6.6 update. You can either get the 10.6.6 update directly from Apple’s website or through Software Update. After that you will be able to access the Mac App Store.

The Mac App Store is new but you will find 1,000 software items already there which also includes Apple’s iLife and iWork.

Apple announced today that the Mac App Store is now operating with more than 1,000 applications in the catalog, free and paid. The Mac on the Mac App Store brings the revolutionary experience of the ‘App Store, which allows you to find exciting new applications, purchase using your iTunes account, download and install in one step. The App Store is available to Mac users through the Snow Leopard Software Update, as part of Mac OS X v10.6.6.

“With over 1,000 Apps, Mac App Store starts great,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “We think users will love this new and innovative ways to discover and purchase their favorite app.”

The Mac App Store offers applications for the Education, Games, Graphics & Design, Lifestyle, Productivity, Utilities and other categories. Users can browse for new applications and are worthy of note, discover the most interesting finding of the staff of your favorite app store, search by category and see the rankings of the app fee and most downloaded free of charge, as well as assessments and user reviews.
Entirely new applications and those currently preferred by Mac users, are made available by developers such as Autodesk, Ancestry.com and Boinx. Apps, iMovie, iPhoto and GarageBand iLife ’11 suite of popular Apple Mac are available individually on the App Store for € 11.99 each, while applications Pages, Keynote and iWork Numbers are available at € 15.99 each. 3 Aperture, Apple’s powerful software for managing and editing photos is available for € 62.99.
