Jay Freeman, the creator of Cydia has released an updated version of Mobile Substrate. The new Mobile Substrate 0.9.5000 adds support for iOS 7 and 64-bit A7 chip.

Evad3rs team released the Evasi0n7 jailbreak a week ago but jailbreak users with newer devices including iPhone 5s, iPad Air and Retina Display iPad Mini were not able to enjoy it as many of the jailbreak apps and tweaks were not working.

But since the Cydia Substrate has been updated by Freeman, now you won’t be having any such issue. Freeman who goes by the name Saurik on Twitter announced the new substrate and support for 64-bit A7 chip.

The developers will be able to develop and make their tweaks compatible with the newer devices by recompiling their tweaks for ARM64.

It is to be noted that these tweaks won’t start working automatically. You will have to wait for the developers to release updated versions in order for them utilise the new Cydia Substrate and properly work.

Mobile Substrate has been renamed to Cydia Substrate now. You can go to Cydia and then search for Cydia Substrate, tap on Install and restart the Springboard and thats it.

Let us see how quick are the developers to start updating their tweaks by using the new Cydia Substrate.
