As we told you earlier the Evad3rs has released Evasi0n7, a tool to achieve an untethered iOS 7 jailbreak. It is compatible with all the versions of iOS 7 iOS 7.0.1, iOS 7.0.2, iOS 7.0.3 and 7.0.4. The tool has the ability to work on all versions iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches that are capable of running iOS 7.
Jailbreaking your iOS with Evasi0n7 is pretty simple. Just a few clicks and you are good to go. Those who have been jailbreaking their devices obviously needs no help. However, we are putting up this easy how to guide as a formality and for the new comers out there.
STEP 1: You have to make sure you back up your device using iTunes or iCloud just to be on the safe side. Also you have to disable the passcode on your device if there is any. You can do that by going to Settings > General > Passcode Lock > and tap on Turn Passcode Off. Also be advised that if you are running a version lower than iOS 7.0.4, you should first update to iOS 7.0.4 before jailbreaking it. Also if you have earlier updated your device using OTA update, backup it in the iTunes and make a complete restore before using Evasi0n7.
STEP 2: Download Evasi0n7 for Mac and Windows.
STEP 3: Open the downloaded file and run the application.
STEP 4: Plug your iOS device to your computer. Evasi0n7 will detect the device and will prompt you with the message and the Jailbreak button will become visible.
STEP 5: Click on the “Jailbreak” button on Evasi0n7, relax and let it do it work. During the process it will also reboot your device.
STEP 6: Once the reboot is done, it will ask you to unlock your device and tap on the Evasi0n7 icon on your Home screen.
You will see an Evasi0n7 app icon on your home screen. Opening it will restart your device again.
STEP 7: Your device will now restart. You can exit the Evasi0n7 application on your computer. After the reboot of your iOS device, you will start seeing Cydia on your device.
It is to be noted that Jay Freeman, the creator of Cydia who goes by the name of Saurik was surprised to see the jailbreak release as were the rest of us. He earlier wrote on Twitter that he was not consulted and nor asked for official iOS7 Cydia. How this is going to impact us? Well you might see some bugs and crashes however the Evad3rs team is working on a fix.
Again many thanks to the Evad3rs team (@pimskeks, @planetbeing, @pod2g, and @MuscleNerd) for releasing the jailbreak sooner than we were expecting. The team is also accepting donations to which you can contribute by going to the evasi0n.com website.
If you face any issue during the process, let us know in the comments section below or write to us on Twitter or Facebook.
