Evasi0n has been updated to the version 1.3 to support the newly released firmware only for iPhone 4S. Apple released iOS 6.1.1 for iPhone 4S earlier today and it didn’t patch the Evasi0n exploit used to the jailbreak the previous firmware.
The Evad3rs team has just updated their tool so it can recognise the new firmware released only for one device that is iPhone 4S.
Looks like the release of new firmware was already in the pipeline before Evasi0n got released. Otherwise, the upcoming iOS 6.1.1 for all devices is highly expected to bring the patch for the untethered jailbreak.
Evasi0n 1.3 should now correctly support OSX 10.5 and the team has also lowered the linux glibc requirement to 2.3.
Those with devices other than iPhone 4S do not have to use the updated tool but they will see an update in the ‘Changes’ section of Cydia.
The iPhone 4S owners are advised to update to the newer firmware version by restoring to it with iTunes and not using the Over The Air update and then use Evasi0n 1.3 to get the untethered jailbreak.
