Its been almost two months since Pod2g has introduced iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak using Absinthe 2.0. The jailbreak is compatible with all iOS 5.1.1 devices except for Apple TV 3 on which Pod2g’s exploit is not operate-able. More specifically, the device needs another vulnerability and exploit to inject unsigned code in it.
Many users are asking about ATV3 jailbreak since last two months. Pod2g has clearly told the status of it in case you are still hoping for it.
According to the jailbreak developer, he himself is not working on the third generation Apple TV jailbreak nor he is aware of any other developer trying to take it as a mission. This is what he has tweeted:
A little harsh statement but its perfectly fine to let users know the current and right status instead of just giving them hope for nothing.
Apple TV 2G users are already enjoying the jailbreak on 5.1.1 using SeasonPass software. For ATV3 users, Pod2g has already cleared the situation and they better hope some other developer comes up with some solution.
