Google has released Chrome for iOS yesterday. We all know how much popularity Chrome has got on the desktop and apparently it will become equally popular on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

We all know the default browser in iOS devices is Apple’s Safari and whatever is the product, users always tend towards what is presented by default. So do you want to change your default browser to Chrome ? No issues. Famous jailbreak apps developer, Ryan Petrich has released a Cydia tweak named “BrowserChooser” that allows you to change your default browser to Chrome or any other if you want to.

Its to be noted that Apple does not allow you to change your default web brower, that is where jailbreaking your device comes in and BrowserChooser is a solution to it.

All you need to do is to install this tweak. For that, first you have to add a Cydia repo owned by its developed where this tweak is hosted. Open Cydia and navigate to Manage > Sources > Edit > Add and then type the following repo :

Once the above repo is added, you have to search in Cydia the name of the tweak which is “BrowserChooser” and it will show you the result containing this tweak. Tap on it and then Install it.

Once the tweak is installed, you have to go to the Settings app and go to BrowserChooser. There you can select Google Chrome to make it your default web browser. You can also select other browsers if they are installed in your device like in our case we also have Opera as an option.
