iOS 5.1 Untethered Jailbreak Update: Pod2g Discovers Two Big Vulnerabilities

by admin on May 1, 2012

Pod2g continues to amaze us. On his Twitter account, he has updated about two big iOS 5.1 vulnerabilities found by him. He told that he had a productive weekend with one root land and one kernel land vulnerability.

Earlier we told you that the developer has opened an online poll so you can vote whether iOS 5.1 untethered jailbreak should be released or kept his exploits for iOS 6. Of course, more users have voted to release iOS 5.1 untethered jailbreak instead of waiting for next firmware update.

Remember if he releases jailbreak by using these exploits, they will be patched by Apple by introducing a minor firmware update let us say iOS 5.2. Apple is expected to announce iOS 6 during the World Wide Developer Conference announced next month from June 11 to June 15.

In our opinion, he should keep the exploits and wait for iOS 6 which is not very far away instead of wasting them. But we cannot stop the anxious users for expressing their opinion as they want the jailbreak to be released as soon as a new firmware arrives.

No estimated time of arrival has been told by the developer. Apparently they are working on iOS 5.1 untethered and won’t be saving it for next iOS release. We will keep you posted on this.
