Yes we know you are waiting anxiously for untethered iOS 5.0.1 jailbreak for iPad 2 and iPhone 4S. Rest of the devices are already untethered jailbroken all thanks to Pod2g. The developer is still working for the rest of the devices that are A5 based.
Yesterday we have updated an announcement by Pod2g that with some luck we could expect jailbreak for A5 devices in a week.
To let us know what is the situation right now, Pod2g has updated a blog post answering several questions that comes in the minds of many jailbreakers who are anticipating it. Check out the interesting read below:
How could pod2g have an untethered 4S and dev teams still haven’t released tools to achieve this at home ?
The exploit I used to inject the untethering files to the 4S relies on having a developer account, and can’t be released publicly.
It’s the same reason why @MuscleNerd has an iPad 2 tethered jailbreak but couldn’t distribute it.
So, we need to find a distributable exploit to remount the system partition read/write and to set Corona files at the correct places.
Why A4 version of Corona was easier to release ?
Because a tethered jailbreak is a good way to install Corona!
Why don’t you do a tethered jailbreak then ?
A tethered jailbreak also relies on an exploitable vulnerability that we still haven’t found yet !
pod2g, release this stuff quick, [your insult here], I’ve waited enough now.
If I could, I would !
The developer has explained what are the obstacles and hindrances that have delayed the jailbreak for A5 devices already. He has also explained why jailbreak for A4 devices was possible earlier than the A5 devices.
Another thing we need to point out. A lot of anxious users start abusing the developers. They ask them to hurry up and use harsh language. We would like to mention that these developer do their best to release these exploits and tools to the public. Using harsh language would not help you. Instead you need to encourage them so they get more motivated.
