Chronic Dev Team’s Untethered iOS 5 Jailbreak Exploits Already Patched By Apple

by casey on November 27, 2011

We know you are waiting anxiously for the untethered iOS 5 jailbreak on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. During the MyGreatFest conference, Chronic Dev Team announced that they have found five exploits that can provide untethered iOS 5 jailbreak. The sad news is that those exploits are beig patched by Apple already. So no Greenpois0n iOS 5 for now.

This is what they have updated on their blog:

Update on iOS5 Jailbreak

First & foremost: during my JailbreakCon talk in September, I was excited to announce that the Chronic Dev team had already discovered 5 different exploits for use in our upcoming jailbreak. Unfortunately, that announcement was a bit premature, because in the subsequent weeks, Apple found & patched a (critical) few of those exploits, between the beta versions we used for testing and the final release of iOS5 on October 12.

Sadly (and trust us, we are much more sad about this than any of you could possibly be), this has prevented us from being able to release a new jailbreak as quickly as we wanted to. As I hinted at earlier this week on Twitter, I was initially disheartened to think that so many of the countless hours we’ve worked on this jailbreak seemingly went right down the drain.

Not to mention, these are by no means the first exploits that have been “lost” by Chronic Dev (or any other iOS hacking teams) in this manner. In fact, these are just a few in a long-running series of exploits that were patched by Apple before we hackers could make use of them in a free jailbreak for you, our loyal fans.

Well, to be frank… this is bullshit!!! And now, Chronic Dev is ready to turn this little information battle into an all-out, no-holds-barred information WAR. So we want to use this experience as an opportunity to explain the method Apple uses to find potential vulnerabilities, as well as to unveil our new master plan, which should not only prevent this from happening to us again in the future, but also allow us to use all of you to find more exploits, so we can ultimately get an untethered jailbreak into your hands as quickly as possible.

It does not mean that we are never going to have untethered iOS 5 jailbreak. Chronic Dev Team has also explained how their exploits has been patched, how apple finds exploits and how users can help them to use the same Apple’s way to find more exploits for untethered iOS5 JB. You can find all this information by checking out this link Download CDev Crash Reporter To Help Chronic Team To Find More Untethered iOS 5 Jailbreak.

Im asking why Apple don’t “THINK DIFERRENT” that we (Idevice Users) just want to use their device coz we buy it, and spend lot of money to use this damn thing what ever we wanted. anyone who wants to teach me how to hack the iPhone.. is highly appreciate… ?? Or can some Hackers!!!! please invent a new Smartphone, Device which better than apple.. perhaps you guys can create a better iOS…. Please release the Unlock for the latest Baseband.. my iPhone transformed into itouch since i accidentally updated my iOS… Thank you!!!

Apple will loose more customers cause now they want to sell out their unclocked Iphones on world , most the iphones are from contract but after done contract with the carriers the Iphone still belong to that network , We stuck ! we suck ! and We need to be free out of the robs after 2 years ! Right ?? But the carriers they don’t let the iphones go out of their hand , then the Apple don’t do free for the phones they made , so that people have to followed apple all the time . But we want to free the Phone cause we bought them , then we can not use them as we like ! So let them go and we still have alot the phones out there to choice , Right ? this is just my think , If ican not use Iphone cause it locked in with the carriers I don’t like I better buy an other phone I can do what ever in it !
