As you already know Amazon has released its latest tablet product Kindle Fire. We are here to show you how to root Kindle Fire that allows you to do modifications and customization at the root level, that is the level where operating system of the Kindle Fire that is Android works.
Rooting Kindle Fire will allow you install un-official apps, games, themes etc. You can also install Custom ROM provided your device is rooted. Follow the how to guide to root kindle fire.
How To Root Amazon’s Kindle Fire Running Android:
STEP 1: First you need to download Source SDK for Kindle Fire which you can find here.
STEP 2: Go to %USERPROFILE%\.android. Edit adb_usb.ini and now add 0×1949 at the last of the file and make sure you save it.
STEP 3: Now you need to go to the directory where you have installed SDK and open google-usb_driver folder. Edit android_winusb.inf and add this to the [Google.NTx86] section and [Google.NTamd64] section,
Kindle Fire%SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_1949&PID_0006%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_1949&PID_0006&MI_01.
Save and close
STEP 4: You must already have your Kindle Fire plugged with your computer. Open device manager and search “Kindle” and choose android_winusb.inf.
STEP 5: Now you need to activate apps installation from Unknown Sources. Just tap the top most bar on your Kindle and then Choose More (+) and then Device. Now open command prompt and run adb kill-server and then try adb devices. This will show you a device.
STEP 6: Now download the SuperOneClick which you can find here. Run it and choose ROOT button. (via)
