So you must be waiting for the untethered iOS 5 jailbreak? Right? We don’t know what happened to those five s3xploits found by Chronic Dev Team but we have another news related to it. Pod2g, one of the important member of Chronic Dev Team has found a vulnerability that is capable of providing an untethered jailbreak for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch on iOS 5.
This is what Pod2g has tweeted:
Hey jailbreaking friends, I’ve found a bug that can untether iOS 5. Don’t expect a release soon, but I’m gonna work hard in it.
No estimated time of arrival. From the tweet it is clear that he has found a vulnerability and it will take him some time to write an exploit for it and then test it before he show any intention to release it.
This vulnerability is different from the ones announced by Chronic Dev Team’s key member P0sixninja (Joshua Hill) during MyGreatFest, the first jailbreak convention held in London now named as JailbreakCon. We were expecting them to release right after the iOS 5 public version but it didn’t happen. They are working hard on it and thank you for you patience are the last words we heard from them.
Most expectedly the exploits found first and announced by P0sixninja will be released first. So wait for the Greenpois0n iOS 5 jailbreak. The one found by Pod2g will take time.
Remember that iOS 5 jailbreak is currently tethered released by iPhone Dev Team in the form of Redsn0w. Although Semi tethered is a much better solution but it is really the untethered one we are waiting for.
