iPhone Dev Team has released an updated version of their jailbreak tool Redsnow. The newly released Redsnow 0.9.8b7 can jailbreak iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch on the latest iOS 5 beta 7. You can find the download links below.
You can use Redsn0w 0.9.8b7 with iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 1, iPod Touch 3G and iPod Touch 4G. Of course you need to stay away from iOS 5 betas if you have an iPad 2 and need to retain your JailbreakMe 3.0 4.3.3 jailbreak.
Redsnow 0.9.8b7 was just a minor update released to fix issues with iOS 5 beta 6 jailbreak. Same version is declared compatible to jailbreak the latest iOS 5 beta 7. This is what iPhone Dev Team says about the Redsn0w 0.9.8 beta 7:
Apple updated the iPad1 iOS5b6 IPSW without changing its version number or filename, so we’re releasing redsn0w 0.9.8b7 to handle both the original and changed IPSW. We’ve also added explicit support for a tethered 4.3.5/4.2.10 jailbreak (instead of pointing at the 4.3.4/4.2.9 IPSWs) and fixed a 4.2.10 problem.
You might be fed up of the iOS 5 betas and waiting for the final version and an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5. Of course, right now Redsnow is only providing you the tethered jailbreak solution. No one is expecting an untethered jailbreak until public version of iOS 5 releases.
