iPhone 5 Jailbreak on iOS 5 will be released in September during MyGreatFest, the first ever jailbreak conference. Jailbreak for iPhone 5 will be released by Chronic Dev Team’s key member Joshua Hill who is known as p0sixninja. He will be demonstrating it LIVE during the MyGreatFest event. Remember, p0sixninja is also working on the iPad 2 jailbreak.
As already confirmed by BloomBerg, Apple will release its new iPhone 5 device with iOS 5 in September. According to the source, it will be featuring A5 processor with 8-Megapixel camera. So in case the device launches before the event, Chronic Team will be demonstrating it LIVE.
iPhone 5 and iPad 2 Jailbreak:
iPhone 5 is not released yet. How they are so sure that they will jailbreak it on iOS 5??? As we have told you earlier, iPhone 5 will be using A5 based chip, same processor that is used in the iPad 2 device which do not have any bootrom or userland jailbreak. There could be chances that Chronic Dev Team has found some bootrom level exploit for iPad2. If this is true, the same exploit can be used to jailbreak the upcoming iPhone 5.
On the other hand, Comex is expected to release his userland level iPad2 jailbreak using JailbreakMe 3.0 before this event.
Difference between Bootrom and Userland exploits:
We are not going to go into the details and depth as we are writing it for the people who are little less technical. Bootrom levels are the ones which are hardware based exploits and cannot be fixed until there is an upgrade in the hardware by the company. For example, if†Geohot finds a bootrom level exploit for the iPad 2 device, it will not be possible to fix it as Apple cannot revise the hardware. If they upgrade the hardware in the iPad 3, then it will be fixed otherwise no chance. Such vulnerabilities which results in a hardware based exploit are normally complicated to find.
