It seems we are NOT going to have an untethered iOS 4.3 jailbreak solution very soon. It seems that the jailbreakers are not ready or they are unable to find exploits this time. As we know that Apple has released iOS 4.3 betas for developers. Public version of iOS 4.3 will be here soon. Now let us see what hackers and jailbreakers are doing.
GeoHot is busy facing trial against Sony for jailbreaking their PlayStation3 firmware 3.55. Although he will jailbreak Sony Xperia PlayStation Phone. He has already announced that he owns no unlock tool for iPhone 4 on higher basebands. On the other hand, it is rumored that he might have jailbreak solutions which are very powerful but apparently he has saved it for the upcoming versions of iOS. Remember he did not released his exploit and used Comex work to release Limera1n for iOS 4.1. His own exploit was saved which is considered to be much more powerful.
Many thanks to Chronic Dev Team who has released the iOS 4.2.1 untethered jailbreak solution by releasing Greenpois0n. They have not said anything related to iOS 4.3 jailbreak. Seems like they are having rest after providing us with the awesome greenpois0n jailbreak tool. Although, we have seen pod2g found a vulnerability when he was working on iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak. Apparently he saved it for the future, we expect he will use it for iOS 4.3. Next comes the SHAtter jailbreak tool, those who are unaware, SHAtter was developed by pod2g to jailbreak iOS 4.1 but GeoHot released Limer1n to jailbreak all iOS devices running iOS 4.1. SHAtter was preserved for next generation devices including iPhone 5 and iPad new version iPad 2.
Then comes the iPhone Dev Team, we know they are working on the iOS 4.3 jailbreak. But we also know that they were failed to release a better solution of iOS 4.2.1. We had to rely on Redsn0w 0.9.7 which was not that good until we got Greenpois0n from Chronic Dev Team. We are not relying on iPhone Dev Team as they give us hope but not the tools to jailbreak. But we appreciate their previous work for the jailbreak community.
Let us see who is going to win this time. But no doubt they are all working for the jailbreak community and people who love it. So we appreciate all of them.
