Seems like Apple is set to increase more obstacles for the Unlockers and Jailbreakers. iOS 4.3 jailbreak solutionseems a big target for the hackers as Apple has added ASLR (Address Space Layout Randomization) in the upcoming iOS 4.3 firmware. At the moment iOS 4.3 is in its beta version but it will be made public very soon.
Hackers seems ready for this challenge as we have seen many of them tweeting about this. They seem optimistic but we know this is going to be complicated for them.
Posixninja, the key member of Chronic Dev Team has tweeted:
Looks like Apple added ASLR into iOS 4.3. This should make things more fun!!!
ASLR which stands for Address Space Layout Randomization is a technique that makes the memory location randomized from where the code in injected and executed. This makes it very complicated for hackers to judge exact memory addresses of malicious code. Base Address, Dynamic Linker and main thread’s stack are also randomized using ASLR.
We already had a bad time getting the untethered iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak version. We do not know whether these hackers are unable to develop a better solution for iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak or they are just saving their technique for the next versions of iOS. If they have failed to launch it for iOS 4.2.1 then it means we have to wait for a long time for iOS 4.3 jailbreak solution.
