The young hacker GeoHot is not set to jailbreak Windows Phone 7 [WP7]. The hacker is already a famous for his work on iPhone and PlayStation jailbreaking.

GeoHot has updated his blog which says:

Previously we have seen Chris Walsh, Long Zheng and Rafael Rivera have developed ChevronWP7 tool to jailbreak and unlock Windows Phone 7. The tool allows you to install apps without having to pay $99 per year for WP7 marketplace. Microsoft quickly approached these guys at Redmond and discussed the exploits and defects existing in the WP7 OS. The developers were also given the over sized T-Shirts which says I was the first to jailbreak Windows Phone 7, and all I got was this lousy t-shirt

Seems like Microsoft has a different set of approach towards hackers and jailbreakers. Previously we have also seen Sony filing a Lawsuit again GeoHot. Let us see how Microsoft handles this young hacker who has a very different kind of attitude.

Brandon Watson, Director of Windows Phone 7 has tried to approach GeoHot by tweeting an an open message saying:

#geohot if you want to build cool stuff on #wp7, send me email and the team will give you a phone let dev creativity flourish #wp7dev
