by casey on January 3, 2011

Another exciting news for the jailbreak lovers. It looks like we are close to get the new version of Greenpois0n jailbreak tool for iOS 4.2.1 on iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod Touch 3G, 4G and iPad. Joshua Hill or p0sixninja of Chronic Dev Team has confirmed the upcoming version of Greenpois0n.

The developer confirmed this on his Twitter account in a reply to a follower. Check out their conversation below:

iPhoneHelpr asking: I think the available latest build from the GP site is rc3_3
p0sixninja (Joshua Hill) replying: yea, at this point in time rc5 is right around the corner so we’re just pressing ahead to get it out asap

Most probably, Greenpois0n RC 5 is going to be a tethered jailbreak solution. Greenpois0n was expected to be released by the New Year but unfortunately some kernel patches in sandbox have to be applied.

rockybsr08 asking: I should clarify. Is it untethered on all devices?
p0sixninja (Joshua Hill) replying: no, i’ve been too busy working on updating it I haven’t had much time to work on exploits. I’m only human!

It is expected that the developer will first introduce the tethered version of Greenpois0n followed by the Greenpois0n untethered jailbreak version for iOS 4.2.1.

Developer has also confirmed the upcoming version on his Twitter status:

Updated version of greenpois0n coming whenever I finish adding these new sandbox patches, sorry this has taken so long
