Previously we have reported about AirPrint Hactivator which allows you to print to Mac OS X shared printers from iPhone and iPad. You can no longer use this software as Apple has requested the developer to remove the application from its website.
“While working on my next project, VPN Hacktivator, I received an email from omm.com on behalf of Apple instructing me to take down the AirPrint Hacktivator pages,” the developer explains.
Apple released Mac OS X 10.6.5 with a news that it will not support AirPrint functionality. AirPrint is a wireless printing feature in iOS 4.2 from iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch to print documents to shared printers on Macs and PCs. AirPrint in iOS 4.2 will only work for ePrint enabled printers (HP ePrint printers mostly) that you most probably do not own.
If you still eager to use the functionality of AirPrint, you can use ‘Printopia’ & ‘FingerPrint’
Hopefully Apple will be fine with the removal of all previous versions from the site and will let me continue to distribute the Apple files free AirPrint Hacktivator 1.7.1 and subsequent versions. This tool is free (and require a bit more steps) but provide similar results (allow you to print to OS X shared printers from iDevices) as a commercial application like Printopia.
