Apple has released Mac OS X 10.6.5 yesterday. It was expected to bring support for AirPrint, a functionality in iOS 4.2 that allows wireless printing from iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch. No specific reason are being told but Apple pulled support for this feature at the last minute. AirPrint in IOS 4.2 will only work for ePrint enabled printer (HP ePrint printers mostly) and you probably do not own one of those printers.

So whats the solution if you still want AirPrint feature on Mac OS X 10.6.5 ????

Netputing has posted a a tool that makes it really easy to install AirPrint on you MAC OS 10.6.5.

I wrote a quick and dirty application called AirPrintHacktivator that will do it for you. The application allow you to “Hacktivate” and “De Hacktivate” AirPrint by adding or removing the 3 files required… all of this while making a backup of the current files so they are properly restored during “De Hacktivation”.

What you need? An iPhone or iPad with 4.2GM and a Mac with Snow Leopard 10.6.5 installed. The application is not checking that you have 10.6.5 installed… so if you go install on 10.6.4… AirPrint won’t work… and you system will still be fine.

Use the tool at your own risk, however Netputing has posted what this tool actually does. You can follow this detail to do this manually as well.
