Samsung Galaxy Tab To Get Android Gingerbread 2.3 & Honeycomb 3.0 Upgrades

Samsung Hub has reported via Samsung India confirming that its 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab will receive upgrades to Google’s Android upcoming versions. The tablet will receive Android GingerBread (supposedly version 2.3) and then HoneyComb (supposedly Android version 3.0) upgrades.

That seems an interesting news as Google itself has not announced any particular dates regarding the upcoming Android Gingerbread’s launch. The update from Samsung reveals that we are going to expect Gingerbread and HoneyComb very soon.

We have already seen Google placing Android GingerBread Man in its HQ which also gives us the same hint .

The Samsung Galaxy Tab has started its sale in UK on November 1. It is already equipped with the latest version of Android OS that is 2.2 Froyo.

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab is expected to go on sale worldwide within the next week. In US, it will be sold through all major network carriers.

Another reason for Samsung Galaxy Tab’s popularity is its competition with Apple’s iPad.
