The most popular video website YouTube now has more than 1 billion subscribers of various channels that users have made. YouTube is celebrating this success with a changed logo showing the “1 billion subscriptions” text under it.
YouTube, which is Google owned website, has shared the channel MachinimaSports that was the lucky page getting the 1 billionth click on the subscribe button.
Every YouTube user’s account is a channel where they users can display and upload their favorite videos. YouTube introduced the subscribe feature in 2006 which provides convenience to follow other user’s activity by subscribing to them.
Media companies that deal with the videos day to day finds the subscribe feature very helpful. By subscribing to some channel, notifications of latest activity of that channel goes directly to their email inbox or the videos happens to show at YouTube homepage when the subscribers logged in.
15 channels on YouTube are pointed out that have more than one million subscribers. YouTube is soon launching a subscription widget for the owners of websites and blogs.
