Previously we have seen VLC media player running on Apple iPad. Now it is confirmed that it is coming for the Apple iPhone as well.
VLC media player has got a lot of attention and coverage in last two weeks. Although it has some issues with some file types. VLC on iPad shows some problems with high bit rate MKV format files. It also showed crashes when used on the latest version of iOS that is iOS 4.2 beta. Still it remained on top of the Free Apps charts for many days.
Applidium developers released the VLC player for Apple iPad and the same company has confirmed and going to release it for iPhone as well. Hope they will be able to resolve the format issues and its compatibility with the latest version of iOS.
The screenshots of the VLC running on iPhone is available which shows that it is very similar to the iPad version. Most likely its is going to be free for the users. VLC iPad app was officially accepted by Apple and we hope that they are going to make it available officially for the iPhone as well.
