Google To Introduce Social Feature Google Me Confirmed By Eric Schmidt

Google is expected to launch its social feature named as ” Google Me ” this year. The project seems like a social feature instead of a complete social network. This has been hinted by Google CEO Eric Schmidt during Google Zeitgeist conference. Eric Schmidt said ” Were trying to take Google’s core products and add a social component, “.

Previously we have seen social media site Digg’s CEO tweeting a status about “Google Me” from some inner source. At that time it was not confirmed by Google and we also know that Digg’s CEO Kevin Rose is an authenticated person and the news has some truth hidden inside it.

Back in August we have seen Google acquiring Angstro , which is a service that shows intelligent results from someone’s network.

Google Me is know more likely to come as a Layer on top of the search results, videos and maps.

On the other hand we have already seen Google Buzz and Google Friend Connect , the total social features previously introduced by Google. It seems that Google is not trying to make a complete social network, they will just bring a social feature but a bigger one this time.

“If you think about it, its obvious. With your permission, knowing more about who your friends are, we can provide more tailored recommendations. Search quality can get better , Schmidt said.

Facebook is going great as a social network. To compete with Facebook is complicated. Let us see what the search engine giant brings for us.
